Positive: We spent a great week at Villa 181 in Koh Lanta in late December — four adults and one child — and very much enjoyed our stay. The villa is set on top of a hill in the jungle, with beautiful views over the greenery and the bay. The infinity pool overlooking the jungle was a real highlight for us, and the small scenic gym on the top floor is a nice extra. The setting feels peaceful, private, and well suited for a relaxing stay. The house is modern and minimalist, with thoughtful attention to detail throughout. It has three large bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and a spacious living room with very high ceilings that gives the space an open, airy feel. We rented the entire villa, which was more space than we needed, but it made the stay especially comfortable. The surrounding area is laid-back and not overly commercial, yet there are still plenty of good restaurants and shops nearby. The hosts were very helpful and flexible, making everything easy from start to finish. They even arranged an in-house cook for Christmas Eve, which was a memorable experience, and shared useful advice on getting around, booking activities, and taxis. Overall, the villa is a wonderful place to stay, and we had a relaxing and memorable week there. We would definitely recommend it and would be happy to return.
