La Croix du Rey lies in the rural heart of Perigord Noir, on the edge of the picturesque small village of Campagnac Les Quercy within easy reach of the renowned medieval town of Sarlat and other equally prestigious sites such as La Roque-Gageac, Beynac, Domme and the famous river Dordogne itself.
This area is a great starting point to numerous sites to be visited.
Layout of the house
The entrance from the terrace leads into the large farmhouse kitchen which is fully equipped with quality appliances including a retro style fridge, Smeg 5 ring range style cooker, microwave and dishwasher. It has a large refectory dining table with benches and a butchers block.
From the kitchen to the left is the sitting room with large windows giving uninterrupted views of the countryside. There are 2 comfortable sofas, one of which is a sofa bed, a huge stone fireplace with wood burning stove and free to air english television and digital radio.
Bedroom one is traditionally furnished with French fabrics and has a huge four poster bed, a wardrobe, and an ensuite shower room; There is also a reclining chair by the large window to enjoy the views.
Bedroom two is again beautifully furnished with a traditional French feel and has twin beds, a wardrobe and dressing table.
The family bathroom has a walk in shower, vanity unit and is beautifully light.
The house benefits from a reversable heating and air conditionning system in all rooms, offering warmth in winter, and coolness in the heat of the summer.
The Gardens and private pool
A large terrace with table and chairs leads off the kitchen and is a perfect spot for enjoying alfresco dining.
The well maintained grounds extend to 2 acres and are a mix of oak woods with wild flowers, meadow and fruit trees. Lots of space to play badminton and ball games.
There is a 12 x 6 metre fabulous fully fenced, heated pool; and terrace with parasols, fantastic summer house and garden furniture for you to enjoy even the hottest days. The final temperature of the water depends on the meteorological conditions.
There is ample private off road parking and a barbecue for your use.
For the comfort of our guests, the house benefits from air-conditionning and the pool is heated.
